DOC POLO BREEDING

Back in 1998, Ricky Truffer (aka DOC), chose the mares that stood at the origin of this breeding program.  They were selected for their capability for working on the expansive cattle ranches of Argentina where they were able to demonstrate their capacity for the sport of polo and therein became successful playing mares themselves.

The motive behind this selection, was to focus intently on all those qualities that had made famous the breed that is the polo horse of Argentina:  temperament, courage, agility, docility and healthiness.

In 2007, several Argentine Polo stallions were introduced and the Doc Polo Breed was born.  These products, once broken in, are routinely worked on the ranches for one year and those that show their strength and capability, pass on to playing chukkas.

Doc Polo Breeding works hard to sustain the synthesis of the best genes with the best environmental influences in order to preserve what is great about the polo horse of Argentina.  Doc Polo Breeding is proud play a part in maintaining the integrity of these wonderful athletes.
